Walking into Cotterill Farm – The Farmhouse, you find yourself in a converted stone building with generous proportions across three floors. Ground level holds the main living spaces: a sitting room with woodburner and Freeview, a dining room opening to the garden via French doors, a well-equipped kitchen with electric range and dishwasher, and a utility room with washing and tumble-drying facilities. A wet room with shower completes this floor. Upstairs, the first floor contains two bedrooms – a kingsize with its own en-suite toilet, and a twin – alongside a bathroom with bath and shower. The second floor offers two further bedrooms, both with single beds, set beneath vaulted ceilings and accessed by a curved oak staircase.

The property sits within a stone-built complex surrounded by Peak District countryside. An enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture provides outdoor space, and parking is available for three cars on site. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The location makes it genuinely walkable – a nature reserve borders the farm, and a bridleway from the drive leads to Hartington village with its pubs and shops. For cyclists, Sustrans Route 54 nearby connects the High Peak and Tissington Trails. Buxton lies roughly midway between here and Ashbourne, putting Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton and the Dove and Manifold Valleys all within 30 minutes' drive. No smoking is permitted.

We have just come back from a fantastic week away in The Milking Parlour. What can I say, they have thought of everything. It was the heatwave whilst we were there but as it is a stone cottage it was very cool. I would definitely recommend and will book again. Thank you so much.

Stunning cottages, all recently refurbished with superb WiFi coverage and speeds. There are loads of lovely places to visit in the local vicinity too including Hartington, Arbow Low stone circle, the Donkey Sanctuary, lots of countryside walks and plenty more. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway as you'll be tucked away from society whilst also being so close to lots of things to do. I love this part of the Peak District.

Situated in beautiful scenery down a quiet country lane these cottages are great for a little getaway. We stayed in The Granary, we had everything we needed and was very cosy and comfortable with fab views across the rolling hills and fields.
