Lane End

Derbyshire Dales

View on Google Maps

Wirksworth sits within reach of some of the Peak District's best walking country. The High Peak Trail starts nearby, offering cycling and hiking through open moorland with views across the surrounding hills. The town itself rewards a wander—Georgian and Victorian terraces line streets that have changed little in decades. The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway runs heritage trains through the valley just outside town, and there are circular walks from Lane End in most directions without needing to travel far.

This detached cottage is ground-floor throughout, with a double bedroom under roof lights, a shower room, and an open-plan kitchen and living space. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. A patio garden with furniture opens off the living area—the kind of spot where you settle with coffee before heading out for the day, or sit in the evening when you return. One car can park on site. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Smoking is not permitted.

Lane End suits two people wanting a base for exploring the valley and the trails beyond, or simply a quiet retreat in a village with genuine character. Dogs are welcome and stay free.
