Ryecroft

Ryecroft sits on a hill overlooking Matlock, with Riber Castle visible across the valley. The cottage has two bedrooms (one with a double and single bed, one with a double), a bathroom with both bath and shower, and space for five people. A dog is welcome to stay free of charge. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all covered, along with initial fuel for the fires.

The ground floor spreads across two reception areas, each with a woodburner and smart TV, plus a separate kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. A patio and lawned garden back onto open countryside, though there are seven garden steps to be aware of. Matlock town centre is downhill from the property, meaning shops, cafes and restaurants are within easy walking distance, as is a pub just a mile away. Bakewell and the heart of the Peak District are a short drive, while the country houses at Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are also nearby. No smoking inside the cottage.
