The Old Angel

The Old Angel is a six-bedroom coaching inn from the 1600s, now converted to sleep 18 guests across three floors. Built from stone with exposed oak beams and original floorboards, it occupies a corner position in Winster village conservation area, next to the village shop and near the National Trust's Market House. The whole property is yours alone, making it suitable for large family gatherings or group celebrations.

Bedrooms vary in configuration—some have zip-and-link beds that split into twins, others fixed doubles and singles—allowing flexible arrangements. Each has a TV. Six bathrooms and ensuites mean nobody queues; facilities include roll-top baths and cubicle showers. The ground floor holds a living room with Freeview and DVD, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with gas and electric cooking. A utility room houses the freezer and dishwasher. Cots and highchairs are available. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included.

The standout amenity is sole use (from 12.30pm daily, pre-booked with the housekeeper) of a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna at Harthill Hall, 3 miles distant. There is private parking for one car on site, plus additional spaces nearby. The property does not permit smoking. One pet is welcome.
