The Stable View is a single-storey retreat for two on the edge of the Peak District, built around a private outdoor Japanese whirlpool bath – the kind with fresh water drawn each time, where you can watch the hills darken as it fills. The cottage sits quietly off a courtyard, with countryside views across the surrounding landscape and a pub within a mile if you fancy leaving the property.
Inside, a king-size bedroom connects to an en-suite with shower and double basin, while the open-plan living space centres on a wood-burning stove (logs and kindling provided). The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking, the dining table seats four, and a large sofa faces the views. A patio and lawn area fronts the garden. Electricity, bed linen and towels come with your stay.
Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton are all within reach for a day out – Bakewell for its market and the Monsal Trail, Matlock for riverside walks and the Heights of Abraham, Buxton for the spa heritage and Pavilion Gardens. No smoking inside the property.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience and couldn't fault a thing. Sarah looked after us and was absolutely amazing – friendly, attentive, and made the whole afternoon feel really special for our cousins babyshower. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and delicious from start to finish. The photography was also 10/10 and captured the experience perfectly. A huge thank you to Sarah and the team for such a memorable visit. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic afternoon tea experience!

Why have I only just found this wonderful place. We saw it whilst driving home and decided to call in. This really is a hidden gem. The place is massive with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, although I can imagine the weekend gets busy. We visited on a friday afternoon around 12pm and it was still busy. We were seated to a table and our order was taken and came out in good time and wow, this was top quality and delicious. I am so glad we found this place and will definitely be going again. Highly recommend.

This would be a nice place to take friend and family. When it gets warmer there are plenty of tables outside.
