The Derbyshire Dales landscape around Matlock is a mix of stone villages, moorland and river valleys—close enough to walk into from this cottage, which sits on a working equestrian farm. Westhills Courtyard – The Cottage is a single storey property with everything on one level, from the entrance through to a bedroom, bathroom and open-plan living space that combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas. A wood burner, smart TV and wi-fi are standard; the kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine for longer stays.
The draw is the garden. A hot tub built for two sits privately at the back, and there is a firepit with seating for evening use. Car parking is on site. Bed linen, towels and heating are included. The cottage suits couples looking for a quiet base without the drive to a remote hillside location; Matlock town is nearby, and Bakewell, Winster and the higher peaks of the Peak District are all within reach by car or on foot. Note that there are steps down into the garden itself.

Stunning! We had the best weekend at the loft. From location to accommodation to attention to detail, everything was perfect. All you need is provided even with the generous addition of bacon, eggs, bread, butter, milk, juice, water and biccies !! Such a relaxing stay, and the Japanese whirlpool bath is a definite highlight. BLISS ! We enjoyed a walk into Winster, which is beautiful and spent the whole weekend exploring and relaxing. We also stopped off at Bakewell on our way home which is within easy reach. All in all it was a wonderful weekend, just wished we had stayed longer! We will definitely be returning. Have already recommended to all my friends and family.

We are repeat guests and absolutely adore this place! The attention to detail is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Such a well appointed property with lovely touches like welcome hamper. Since our last visit there has been the welcome addition of the Japanese bath in a lovely secluded garden area! We spent a blissful hour watching the stars in a hot tub in November!! Cannot recommend highly enough and can’t wait to go again x

WestHills Courtyard Holiday Accommodation❤️ We’ve just returned from our second stay at Westhills Courtyard Cottage in Winster, and it was even better than the first. From the moment we arrived, we were reminded why this is such a special place. The cottage is full of charm and comfort, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing mini break. The surroundings are simply stunning, with beautiful views in every direction that make you want to slow down and soak it all in. Karen and Colin are wonderful hosts, thoughtful and welcoming, ensuring everything is just right for guests. It’s rare to find somewhere that feels even more magical on a return visit, but Westhills Courtyard Cottage does exactly that. We’re already looking forward to our next stay! Eddie&Sheena.

Karen clearly puts a lot of work into looking after the place and it shows, everything was perfect with lots of little touches to make it comfortable and enjoyable. The views from the windows and balcony are beautiful, and the Japanese spa bath was just incredible! All the relaxation of a hot tub but instead of chlorine there's a lovely smell of wood, have recommended to my friends.
