Tythe Barn is a detached conversion built upside-down so that the main living spaces on the first floor overlook the Derbyshire Dales countryside. The bedrooms occupy the ground floor: four rooms sleeping eight in total, with one king bed in an ensuite and another king on a raised section, plus two rooms with single beds. Two bathrooms serve the property. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are included, and there is parking for four cars on site along with a bike store.
Downstairs centres on the kitchen and dining room, where French doors open onto an enclosed patio. The living room upstairs has a woodburner, Freeview TV and a CD player. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual kit—rather than holiday basics. Travel cots and highchairs are available if needed. The barn sits in the grounds of the owners' home in Grindleford village, within walking distance of a pub and the surrounding fields. The market town of Bakewell lies a few miles away, as does Hathersage with its outdoor pool and cafés. Castleton caves, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are all within reach for day trips.
