About Cockingford Farm
Cockingford Farm is a working farm on the edge of Dartmoor, offering back-to-basics camping that's particularly popular with Scout groups but welcomes families and tourers too. Pitches are flat with soft ground for a comfortable night's sleep, and the site has a lovely river running through it that adds to the peaceful atmosphere. Clean facilities include hot showers, and there's a handy on-site shop stocking local farm products.
The welcoming owners keep everything well-maintained, and prices remain refreshingly affordable. Dogs are welcome, making it a good base for exploring Dartmoor's trails. Note that there's no Wi-Fi or chemical disposal point, so it's properly low-key — though that seems to be precisely the appeal for those who return year after year.

Really lovely campsite large dedicated spaces for pitches, clean toilets and showers and the best part, FLAT SOFT GROUND to sleep on! The owners were very welcoming and helpful too, definitely coming back. Paid £10 for 1 adult, 1 night

Stayed here as part of a climbing club trip to Dartmoor, the site was very clean and well equipped - and all prior communication & payment with Evie for the group booking was straightforward and easy. Would definitely recommend as a site for groups & individuals.

Our new favourite campsite ! Beautiful and quiet, this secluded campsite on the edge of Widecombe is super peaceful, safe and dog friendly. Situated along a babbling brook, this old quaint working farm has a very friendly and laid back approach and we felt really content and relaxed. Clean facilities and very affordable. We'll be back !

A lovely little campsite in a great location. The pitches were adequately sized and much more affordable than many of the other local campsites. The toilet block is up a bit of a hill, but is clean. The showers work well. Unfortunately, the lady who checked me in was fairly unfriendly - a warm welcome with a bit of chat is always appreciated!
