No need to flip a coin to decide whether your next holiday should be all about the seaside or a hiking adventure, for at East Dunley Certificated Location you can combine both in one neat package. This one-acre site sits on a quiet farm outside Bovey Tracey (five minutes' drive), a small town known as the Gateway to the Moor (Dartmoor, that is); and several beaches along the South Devon coast – such as Teignmouth – can be reached in less than half an hour. Access is straightforward, too, with no narrow lanes to navigate on the route in.
The slightly sloping field offers hardstanding-and-grass pitches with views towards Dartmoor, and welcomes Caravan and Motorhome Club members along with their dogs. Your canine companion will need to stay on a lead around the farm's resident animals (other dogs, cats, grazing horses and the occasional sheep), but there's an enclosed field where they can run free. Amenities include a modern, impeccably maintained toilet block, showers and a launderette, plus free wifi and electric car charging. The peaceful atmosphere is a real draw, though some visitors note the facilities can feel a touch tired in places. Bovey Tracey has plenty of restaurants and cafés, while the nearest pub is just over a mile away in Chudleigh Knighton.

This is a great CL. Really easy to get to, great facilities, clear instructions for pitch when booking and close enough to the Stover Trail, Templer Way and Wrey Valley cycle routes. Reasonable walks nearby too - Bovey Tracey & Chudleigh Knight nearby. We will return (not something we often do).

What a truly wonderful holiday we have had in Devon at this lovely CL site. From the moment of first contact everything was seamless & communication was second to none. The site itself is beautiful. I love how natural it is & it’s so very peaceful. The facilities are wonderful (you never expect much from a CL but these are superb) and the enclosed dog walk is a real bonus, especially with a new puppy on board! I loved walking round that field it was the favourite part of my morning. All the info provided to us was brilliant, we enjoyed 2 nice meals at the Claycutters Arms (a lovely walk there and back through the woods) where the service was excellent and we even managed to see some bats on our walks back to the site. All in all we couldn’t rate the site more highly nor commend the communication and service more enthusiastically. We will be telling everyone we know about this site and the cottages, which are perfect for exploring Devon. I actually shed a tear or 2 when we left the site because I enjoyed the stay so much. Thanks again for a wonderful, memory filled holiday in Devon. The Wells Family

This a lovely place to stay for a quiet break. The cottage ( Virginia) was very comfortable, but some of the cooking utensils were very poor quality baking trays in particular. I would also have added a measuring jug and suitable mixing bowl. Overall, I was happy with my stay and would certainly recommend them. May I also add that as an owner of a caravan for 40 years, I thought the caravan site was excellent.

Quiet location with good facilities (new shower, toilet and washing plus WiFi). Friendly staff. However sloping pitches and works to improve drainage meant there was a lot of dirt patches with no grass and as it rained a lot it did get muddy. Also there are additional charges for children and awning which meant we were paying £29 a night, which is expensive for a CL site. Not far from Bovey Tracey and Chudleigh Knighton with shops, pubs and places to eat. If you are into biking I would recommend Halden Forest about 15 mins by car.
