About Holly Water Holidays
Holly Water Holidays sits just outside Crediton, tucked between Dartmoor and the Blackdown Hills AONB — a peaceful base for exploring Devon's contrasts. The site offers an ensuite shepherd's hut and a glamping treehouse, both kitted out with private hot tubs and fire pits, making evenings here something special after days out on the moor or coast.
It's a small, thoughtfully designed setup rather than a sprawling park, so you get a proper sense of seclusion. Open year-round, it suits couples after a romantic escape or families wanting something a bit different. No pets allowed, and there's no WiFi either — which feels entirely intentional given the setting.

What visitors say
What a gorgeous piece of heaven! I booked one of the shepherds huts - Oak, for two nights for my partner's birthday, hoping to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I was completely blown away by Jane's hospitality and how perfect the stay turned out to be. The hut had everything we needed - cutlery, fresh linen and towels, a wide library of books and DVDs, cosy bathrobes, wood and kindling for the hot tub, fire pit, and wood burner. I was also really grateful for the notes and the binder explaining how to operate the hot tub, listing fresh farm produce we could order, and suggestions for pubs and activities nearby. During the day we'd venture for walks around the neighbouring fields, where Jane and Iain's animals reside. Sun-tzu (the black alpaca) excitedly ran at us as soon as he saw us and demanded cuddles, while one of the goats kept attempting to nibble on my shorts 😂 We also kept being followed by a small group of curious calves♥️ The place is rather secluded and there's barely any reception - perfect for a weekend break! I was a bit worried if we're going to find it alright, but in the end we had no troubles thanks to Jane's detailed instructions included in one of the emails. It's a gorgeous place, and I won't stop raving about it to my friends! Hopefully, we'll be able to come back soon!

We stayed at the Oak hut for 2 nights for my birthday and it was exactly what we needed. The place is beautiful and the views are captivating. Jane the hostess was very helpful and attentive, specially during an early morning bacon delivery. The private hot tub is perfect to relax in with a drink. The only disappointment was when we had to leave and go back to work. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the beehive lodge at Holly Water Holiday’s for two nights. Nestled in rural Devon countryside about 15 minutes from Crediton. The site has three accommodations, two Shepards huts and one larger Treehouse (the beehive) which sleeps 4 (recommended minimum age 14, contact Jane for further information about this). The retreat is very secluded so the only thing you’ll encounter are the various farm animals. sheep, rhea, alpaca, pigs. Spread across many hectares the farm is very well kept and looked after. You can see that the owner clearly has a lot of pride and care for their farm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Me and my partner stayed in the lovely 'Oak' Shepherds Hut at the weekend and we were completely blown away! Jane was really lovely and on hand for anything we needed, although everything we needed was already there! :) The Shepherds Hut was kitted out to the highest standard I have ever seen, with a fridge, all utensils, ensuite bathroom and more! The views were like none other and it was lovely stargazing in the evening from the hot tub. Although we only stayed for 2 nights, we really wished we stayed for longer. For each night, we ordered meat from the owners - the lamb chops were the best we have ever had! Highly recommend others to do this and use the BBQ on site. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you Jane and Iain x
