About The Orchard Retreat
You may think camping and luxury don't really belong together, but this intimate mid-Devon spot sets out to prove otherwise. At The Orchard Retreat, just bring your tent, bedding and provisions – each of the handful of pitches comes with its own private lockable bathroom complete with shower, toilet, towels, hairdryer and hand soap. For something more indulgent, book a soak in the 'Hidden Tubhouse', an open-air bathroom with twin cast iron baths under the stars (free to use, though the site asks you to stick to natural products).
A well-equipped shared kitchen means you needn't rough it at mealtimes either, stocked with everything from fridges and cookware to teabags and washing-up liquid. Outside, there's a communal firepit, badminton court and a cob pizza oven available to hire. When you fancy venturing further, the local farm shop and café are a 10-minute stroll, the village pub 20 minutes on foot, and Crediton's shops a short drive. It's a thoughtfully done site, though with so much on offer, pitches don't come cheap.

A beautiful stay at The Orchard Retreat in stunning surroundings, with extremely well-appointed accommodation and with our two doggos for company! This was our second stay, this time in Apple Tree cottage, and it was perfect. With warm, sunny weather, we took advantage of our quiet surroundings with lovely lazy walks, use of the pizza oven with Orchard Retreat's very own apple juice as an accompaniment, and use of the outside twin tub bathroom - important to say that it has both hot and cold water to fill your tub as you please! We visited the local farm shop, just a short walk away, and can highly recommend the cooked breakfasts, cakes and ice cream. This break was exactly what we needed for our first full week off this year. Im already looking forwars to our next visit. Thank you to Vicky and Nick for making us feel so welcome.

We stayed at the Cider Barn for a week. The house is comfortably furnished and we had plenty of space. Nothing is missing, the kitchen is superbly equipped with everything you need. The grounds are very spacious and offer plenty of room for walks. It is very quiet and very beautiful. Everything can be used, and we were even able to pick and eat apples (which the children especially enjoyed). For children, there is a playhouse, swings, table tennis table, and badminton net, as well as lots of games (indoor and outdoor). Another highlight is the outdoor bathtubs. Vicky was very friendly when we contacted her in advance, and everyone is very helpful. During our stay, we could contact her at any time for tips and questions. All in all, it was a restful and relaxing stay. A little home away from home. We really enjoyed our vacation and will definitely be back!

We booked both Cider Barn and Apple Tree Cottage as we were attending a family wedding in Crediton. Deciding to extend our stay for 6 days was the best decision we made. The cottages were equipped with everything we needed, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The welcome goodies were delicious and very much enjoyed as were the doggy treats for our dog Maisie. Each cottage has a private garden that opens out on to a meadow with stunning views. Daily walks were enjoyed by all of us, particularly Maisie. Inside the Gallery there is a pool table, dart board and numerous board games and outside in the grounds, badminton, table tennis, swings and climbing frame for younger visitors. The Al fresco bathroom was a great experience and one that even my 95yr old dad enjoyed, claiming that after his shower he felt invigorated and 20yrs young again. Maybe we should have stayed longer!! Vicky and Nick are great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for an amazing stay at Orchard Retreat ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently spent 3 nights at The Cider Barn whilst attending a wedding in the local area We highly recommend Surrounding area is so beautiful and peaceful The accommodation is very comfortable and clean with everything you need at hand Vicky was so approachable We definitely plan a return visit
