About Milkmaid Meadow Campsite

Tucked into 22 acres of Devon woodland and meadow, Milkmaid Meadow Campsite puts nature front and centre. A winding trail leads past an insect hotel and a pretty pond at the site's edge, while streams thread through the trees and wildlife flits about freely. It's proper back-to-basics camping – composting loos, two hot showers, washing-up sinks and a communal firepit, plus individual firepits and barbecues for hire if you'd rather keep your flames private. Solar charging points are a thoughtful touch, and you can park right by your pitch.

The location delivers, too. Bideford's 15 minutes away, Westward Ho! 25 minutes, and Exmour National Park sits 35 minutes up the road, so there's plenty of scope for coastal walks, cycling, watersports or poking around historic port towns like Appledore and Instow. The on-site shop stocks local eggs, meat, bread and seasonal veg grown in the meadow itself – handy if you'd rather skip the supermarket run.

Perfect site for semi wild campers that like a toilet, kitchen and shower. Amazing having all that in the middle of nowhere. Water was lovely and hot!
