About Valley View Farm

Small really is best at Valley View Farm, a tiny pop-up site for caravans and motorhomes on a working farm just five minutes from sleepy Ashreigney. Level grass pitches with optional electric hook-ups enjoy far-reaching views over Devon countryside, and you can meet the farm's pedigree cattle grazing in surrounding fields. Dogs are more than welcome year-round – bridleways and footpaths thread through woodland and valleys straight from your pitch – though do keep them under control around livestock.

Facilities are basic: there are no on-site toilets or showers, so you'll need your own, though waste water disposal and recycling are available. Barbecues are allowed if you bring your own kit. The farm's café draws praise for generous portions – chicken schnitzel, full English breakfasts, cream teas – served by friendly staff, with a play area that's handy for families. Chulmleigh's pubs and takeaways are 10 minutes' drive, while Dartmoor National Park is half an hour away for more serious walking or cycling.

Lovely place. Visited 2 years ago whilst on holiday and enjoyed it. Stopped off on the way down to Plymouth this weekend and it was as good as we remembered. Food is outstanding. We had the chicken schnitzel and hogs roast and they were both delicious. The pork crackling was the best we’ve ever had. Nice atmosphere with a great view also!

We stopped here after we spent some time in Kingsbridge on the way back to our accommodation. The views from the cafe were lovely and the portion of cake was generous. We did feel our milkshakes could have had a bit more flavour. Also, there was a bit of a toilet smell the end we sat at so be careful where you choose to sit but overall a nice spot with good views.

This is one of the best cafes around the area, the food was amazing and the view was spectacular. The highlight was the scones (they were soft and fluffy), it was a perfect experience.

Really cute cafe. It’s a small place so there wasn’t a lot of inside sitting but we sat in the marquee outside which was a little chilly, but they provide blankets. My breakfast was pretty good, it wasn’t my favourite but my mum absolutely loved the avocado and poached eggs on toast. Great quality food from a farm shop.
