What visitors say
We started the day with a lovely 2 mile circular walk around the wider estate. The paths were generally good underfoot and shaded in parts which was good for walking with dogs in this warm weather. There was a chapel and a quaint little house to view on the way round. The house itself was interesting and the upstairs had a clothing exhibition rather than the usual bedrooms. There were 2 cafes available, one of which was dog friendly. There were also picnic tables for those wanting to bring their own food. Over the summer, there were a good range of activities to do with younger children. Would recommend a visit.

We came on Sunday Would recommend going here lovely place to go and very dog friendly. They have lots of woodland walks around too just need some better sign posting with different lengths of walks in different colours as it was very easy to get a bit lost in the wildness. Lots of dog bins on the walk around. Garden was very pretty with all the summer plants loving the roses. There was some grass for the kids to play on which dogs are not allowed on. There are two cafes on the estate the one by the ticket office is the only dog friendly one . Try the the fruit scones very yummy quite large and the ice latte was delicious. We spent a good 3 hrs here could of spent longer. Plenty of parking around to the right n extra car park further up pay for parking at one of the machines or scan Ur national trust card at the machine if have one . Lots of toilets blocks around estate all very clean. They have a shop by the ticket office too don't forget too get ur stamp for ur national trust passport. Friendly staff in there. Can take dogs in there too.

This was a bit of a rushed visit, so we didn't take in the gardens. A nice property with a small collection. The house itself is quite pretty. A fashion exhibition was on the second floor. Usual NT facilities onsite, welcoming staff.
