About The Oaks Poultry Farm
Tucked into the South Downs National Park near Ditchling, this working farm offers a refreshingly simple camping experience on a lush field where you choose your own pitch. Firepits are welcome (logs available in the farm shop, or bring your own), and with basic but adequate shower and toilet facilities, it's a proper back-to-basics break. The site's genuine appeal lies in its animals – donkeys, goats, ducks, cows and poultry roam the farm, and kids can hold smaller creatures or play in the sandpit and mud kitchens.
After a walk in the surrounding woodlands, the on-site tearoom serves excellent homemade cakes, coffee and ice cream, while the farm shop stocks quality fresh meat, eggs and camping essentials (closed Sundays, but takes pre-orders). Prices remain reasonable for a family outing, and the welcoming staff add to the friendly atmosphere. Just note: no dogs allowed, so four-legged companions will have to sit this one out.

What visitors say
Third visit to this lovely farm. Didn’t realise it doesn’t open on Mondays. We were still welcomed in and our toddlers got to meet the animals. It’s such a warm and welcoming place. Last time we were there we had a lovely lunch in the coffee shop. Many thanks, we’ll be back again.

We took the children here for the children's farm, plus also an opportunity to purchase from the farm shop. This was our first visit, and was the first of more to come! We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting to Edward, the farm owner, who's enthusiastic attitude was lovely. Such a nice guy, checking in on everyone ,making sure everyone was okay, giving information and helping with the handling of the little chick's, guinea pigs, tortoise and rabbits. But also once the 3pm closing time arrived, he just carried on, there was no intention on his part for rushing families out. We also purchased from the farm shop, so were fortunate to meet Katy, Edwards wife, who we heard had been baking cakes until 11pm the evening before! She was so warm, helpful and welcoming. On this occasion we purchased some eggs and black pudding, breakfast today was so much more tastier thanks to those items! On this occasion we didn't use the cafe, except to purchase the entry into the children's farm, but the girls behind the counter were all friendly and helpful, and what was left of Katy's cakes looked divine! Without a doubt, a wonderful little poultry farm trying to do a little more to sustain there farm. As keen watchers of Clarkson's Farm, it has opened our eyes to how hard it is for farmers, the long days and the commitment they and their families make, whilst being subjected to red tape and supermarket discounts. So please help support British farmers if you can. This was our second farm visit over the Easter break, and we'll definitely be supporting Oaks Poultey Farm with future visits to the farm shop, and the children's farm.

Great farm shop and cafe with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The meat and fresh produce are excellent quality and very good value for money. The cafe also offers delicious homemade cakes and really good coffee. Highly recommended!

Fantastic family owned farm, offering a lovely spring experience for the little ones. Our little girl was able to hold little chicks, ducks, guinea pigs and rabbits; as well as feeding donkeys and goats in the neighbouring fields. There’s also a lovely little cafe and farm shop on site, and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The prices are very reasonable and would go out on a limb as say it’s better than Middle Farm.
