About Barkhill Shepherd's Huts
Tucked into peaceful Dorset countryside just outside Blandford Forum, Barkhill Shepherd's Huts offers an adults-only glamping retreat with just a handful of beautifully appointed huts—think Bluebird and Sunny Jim—set amid spectacular scenery that doubles as a wildlife haven. Each hut comes with its own barbecue, and the setting strikes a lovely balance between seclusion and convenience, with shops, restaurants, and a farmers' market all nearby.
The intimate scale (fewer than ten pitches) guarantees tranquillity, while the surrounding area opens up plenty of outdoor possibilities—canoeing, cycling, mountain biking, and tennis are all within easy reach, plus both indoor and outdoor pools. It's a polished, peaceful base for exploring Dorset, though at around £190 a night it's priced at the higher end for shepherd's hut stays.

Lovely shepherds huts in a beautiful location, we had a fab little weekend here. We'd recommend for a relaxing weekend away. Great service, John was there to meet us when we arrived, and had thought of everything we could need - quickly getting us set us and leaving us to it, but contactable if we needed anything. The hut itself is lovely, great facilities for such a small space: kitchen, toilet, shower, wood burner. And outdoors a lovely private space with table, chairs, lighting, BBQ, fire pit.

Situated about 50 mins drive north to West Lulworth, this hut is well equipped with ensuite showers(gas heated), gas cooking stove, BBQ and of course a cosy fireplace both within and in front of the hut. If the weather is good and with less moonlit, the milky way would be easily visible just across the hut. Both Jane and John are very easygoing owners, they provide impeccable service, we had a good time there and we would definitely like to recommend this hut.
