About Buddens Camping and Activity Centre
Adventure-seekers will be in their element at this 96-acre activity hub on Dorset's Purbeck peninsula. The centrepiece is a towering multipurpose structure offering climbing walls, Jacob's Ladder, abseil platform and twin ziplines, while the tree-fringed lake hosts canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding sessions in summer. Archery, tomahawk throwing and team challenges like raft-building round out the programme, keeping families happily occupied for days.
Between activities, you can explore bridleways leading directly from site to spots like Careys Secret Garden or Morden Bog Nature Reserve. The pitches themselves are straightforward grass plots (tent or campervan, non-electric), and facilities can feel a bit basic given the scale of the operation. Still, the location delivers – just ten minutes from Wareham's shops and restaurants, twenty from Jurassic Coast beaches. Fire up the barbecue outside your tent, grab coffees from the tuck shop, and let the kids burn off energy while you steal a few peaceful hours on the woodland trails.

What visitors say
A great scout site where I first spent a night under canvas in the late 90s but hadn't stayed in the last decade. Good to see some significant investment in the activities since Rockley have taken over (although the original toilet block is still in need to completely gutting). Particularly shout out to Maddie on the zip wire who encouraged the vast majority of 6-8yr old Beavers to throw themselves off a 10m tower. She was absolutely brilliant with my son, who was initially very nervous but ended up going round repeatedly until the activity ended.

Where this is a great location for scout camps etc but Rockleys as a service provider is terrible. No standard for clean bathrooms. Lazy and bad attitude by the staff running this place but it starts right at the top of Rockley. Profits for the manager Rockley before service. Perhaps managers need to go on hygiene courses and get some common sense again.

Stay as part of a Scout camp. Huge site with good range of activities. Only real criticism is that the older toilet block gets very dirty as mid is tracked in from outside and there is no where dry to put your clothes when showing other than a few hooks on the wall, water temp is luke warm and lighign outside is non existent. The newer shower and toilet block is much cleaner but still needs somewhere to put your dry clothes etc.

Here for a school camp trip. Bathrooms looked like they hadn’t been cleaned very well. Definitely bring flip flops for the shower. The activities are very good and staff great too. A fun trip as amongst friends. Food was good for camp standards. The cleanliness bring the experience down a little bit this is typical of school camps. Some muddy footprints in our tent. There were brown and yellow stains on the inside ‘walls’ of the tent.
