🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

The Duck House

The Duck House is a complete, self-contained apartment on the first floor of a property in Wool village, sleeping four across two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything essential is provided: electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric oven, hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer, so you can cook properly rather than making do. A welcome pack of local produce arrives with you.

Living space consists of a light, spacious room with sofa bed, Freeview Smart TV and access to the enclosed garden beyond. The bedrooms contain a king and a single bed. Outside, a patio, garden furniture and barbecue overlook a small fenced stream at the garden's far end—the ducks that frequent it are where the place gets its name. There is parking for one car on site. The shared path down to the entrance involves 13 steps, and the garden is accessed the same way. No smoking throughout.

Wool sits within reach of the Jurassic Coast's major attractions: Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Studland and Weymouth beaches are all a short drive away. The village itself has shops, a bakery, deli and two pubs serving food. Dorchester and Wareham historic market towns are nearby, as are RSPB Arne and links to Thomas Hardy. Walking routes abound locally; the South West Coast Path lies under five miles away. The railway station, a ten-minute walk off, runs direct services to London.
