Crabbs Bluntshay Farm Campsite Certificated Location

We discovered this gem of a campsite while touring; booked for one night and liked it so much we stayed for two. The flat and well kept site's adjacent to a working farm, but nevertheless incredibly peaceful and tranquil. The owner (local historian Sylvia) is a most knowledgeable and welcoming host and the camping facilities are spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged to cater for all types of vehicle and under-canvas campers. The Starlink WiFi is useful for those needing to stay in touch with the outside world. We really enjoyed our visit to Bridport with it's bustling and musically entertaining Saturday street market and the pretty cove at Seatown; both just a short drive away. It's definitely one we've made a note of, should we ever be passing this way again. Recommended!

A wonderfully peaceful and quiet camp site. Nice little swing set to keep the kids occupied for a while. Sylvia was a very attentive (and very busy) host but nothing seemed too much trouble. Took us on a nice guided tour of her farm where she keeps, fowl, sheep, cows, pigs and my daughters favourite - a beautiful waddle of goslings! The neighbours also keep peacocks which spend a lot of their time chilling out on Sylvia's patch. There is also a decent length Orchard walk (Sylvia can supply you with a map of which areas are part of her farm and which are not) that I recommend. They have a wonderful collection of old farming implements to look at as well as 2 modern tractors. All in all, I can't recommend staying here enough. If you want non stop entertainment for the kids and cabaret at night, this isn't the site for you. If you want to be surrounded by nature and go to sleep listening to the sheep bleeting over the road, this is your cup of tea. Showers run on tokens which are 50p each and can be obtained directly from Sylvia. She also sells a large rubble sack of nicely seasoned firewood for £8 including kindling. Can't argue with those kind of prices. Finally, a very special shout out to Alisha who lives next door to Sylvia and does the majority of the farm work with her other half. We purchased some sausages and pork steaks from her (her number and what she is selling is posted around the farm including in the main shower/toilet cabin). I've eaten farm reared pork from many farms both abroad and locally and this pork, by far, was THE nicest BBQ Chinese pork steaks I have EVER eaten. Do not think twice about contacting Alisha and buying some of her goods. You won't regret it!

Lovely place, lovely farmer very helpful. The only drawback is the lanes which are quite tight. Apart from that it's a fantastic quiet site

The toilets and showers were in a Portacabin and were very tired looking, definitely in need of an upgrade. You need tokens for the shower, at an extra cost of 50p each but we weren't told this on arrival, and there was more room in a phone box than there was in the 2 showers that are here. If you tow anything, like a caravan, the lanes to get to the site are very tight. I was just glad that the weather was nice! Aside from that, we had a lovely holiday.
