About Crossways Caravan and Motorhome Club Site
Spread across 35 acres of mature Dorset woodland, Crossways feels worlds away from ordinary touring sites. Pitches nestle in secluded groves with evocative names like Iron Horse Meadows and Poachers Paradise, connected by a meandering network of tree-lined lanes. Deer wander through regularly, and the sense of space and quiet is genuine – though the facilities (including composting loos that reviewers consistently praise for their cleanliness) are thoroughly modern. Electric grass and hardstanding options cater to tourers and motorhomes alike, while a dog park and nearby woodland trails keep four-legged guests happy.
The friendly on-site team and adjacent pub add practical convenience, and Dorchester's Georgian streets are just a short drive. Some visitors note the woodland pitches can feel a touch shaded in winter, but for a peaceful, nature-rich base to explore Hardy country and the Jurassic Coast, Crossways delivers something genuinely special.

What visitors say
Lovely setting in woodlands. Great for walking the dog as a lot of it was in shade. It is situated next to a main railway line but that didn't bother us at all. There were families of deer who live in the woods and are not afraid to come up close. Just give them the respect they deserve. I personally loved watching them. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The site has composting toilets which is not everyone's cup of tea. I personally found them too low to get on and off with my arthritic knees but they lent me a radar key so I could use the disabled one which was normal height. The Frampton Arms was 5 mins walk away, dog friendly and food was good, especially the chips! There's a co-op 15 mins walk away too. Word of warning, if you have a big rig the roads around the site are very narrow and tree lined. Will definitely return.

Of particular note here are the showers completely separate from the toilets by about 50 or so metres. That said the showers were hot and powerful but little drying/ changing space so go underdressed, dry off and change back at your caravan/ campervan. The compost toilets need a mention. I loved them. Read carefully…… there is no flush no water just a “normal toilet “ ( honestly you could tell it apart) absolutely no smell, no “flush worry”, and absolutely no need for a toilet brush or anything. Dare I say just dump and go. No need to check if anything is left behind. Brilliant for those of us who hate waiting for the cistern to refill after using the brush. Brilliant idea!

Really nice site, different from most of the club sites as the pitches are seperate by woods, some more compact grass areas but we had a lovely secluded plot with only a few other people around. Deer walking past casually and many squirrels. Toilets are composting and WiFi is only by the reception but that's fine by us. Very easy walk to the train station to pop to Weymouth for the day.

Just spent 4 wonderful nights at crossways, a very quiet & relaxed site with very friendly staff. Ideal place to stay for sight seeing in Dorset. Deer roam the grounds which is so lovely to see & to be in nature. Nice pub a walk away through a gate in the woods. Will definitely be back.
