About Eggardon Hideaways
Nestled on a working farm just a quarter-hour from Bridport and the Jurassic Coast, Eggardon Hideaways offers a peaceful slice of rural Dorset. Guests stay in rustic shepherd's huts that blend charm with simplicity—expect wood-burning stoves, comfortable beds, and a real sense of escape. The site welcomes dogs, making it ideal for families who want to explore the countryside with four-legged friends in tow.
Reviews consistently praise the tranquil setting and thoughtful touches, though some note the huts can feel quite basic if you're after more modern comforts. Still, for those seeking an authentic, back-to-basics retreat within easy reach of coastal walks and market-town wandering, it's a genuinely lovely spot to unwind.

What visitors say
Absolutely beautiful yurt in an outstanding location. We were thoroughly delighted with our stay especially as we were the only people there for the weekend so had the toilet and shower to ourselves. The view from the yurt is just lovely. Walk to local pub and short drive to our favourite pub to eat in The Marquess of Lorne where the food was excellent for pub food. Short walk through a field to then climb the hill fort to give you the most exceptional views. Everything in the yurt was lovely .. we were so cosy with the wood burner. It’s no surprise that the person who made the yurt is just as lovely. Emily was charming and funny and just left us to get on and have a great time but equally willing to chat on arrival and leaving. We will be coming back to this very special place for sure! Xx

Absolutely stunning location and luxurious yurt! Very comfy beds and plenty of space. Outdoor kitchen well equipped plus fire pit and picnic table and chairs. Super shower and compost loo. 20-minute walk to pub across the fields! Excellent walking. A wonderful wild weekend. Highly recommend!

Had the loveliest stay in yurt with family of 4 for a few days. Such a beautiful peaceful location, spent most nights stargazing beside the fire before sleeping the deepest I have in ages in the yurt. The yurt was perfect. Everything you could possible need for a rest - so cosy. Really didn't need to bring anything extra. Kitchen area fabulous and well equiped! Emily is a great host and always responsive if you need anything.

The yurt was so fun and magical, watching the trees wave on the sky light. We loved starting fires on round moon nights. It’s was an amazing experience with gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. We enjoyed the yurt very much.
