About Litton Lakes
Tucked into the pretty village of Litton Cheney, this family-run lakeside site on a working farm strikes a lovely balance between activity and peace. The lake itself is the star – perfect for wild swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking – while the on-site Purple Turtle Café (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except in summer holidays) serves excellent cakes and coffee with views across the water. Spacious non-electric grass pitches feel pleasantly relaxed, and campers praise the spotless facilities, including new shower and toilet blocks with wheelchair-accessible options.
Direct access to footpaths and bridleways makes this a walkers' paradise, with National Cycle Route 2 passing the entrance for family-friendly cycling. There's a dedicated dog-walking field, firepits for hire, and barbecues are welcome. The local pub is just five minutes on foot, and the area's minimal light pollution makes for superb stargazing. Prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is genuinely friendly, and the far-reaching countryside views provide gorgeous photo opportunities – though some might find the remoteness means fewer on-site amenities than busier sites.

What visitors say
Beautiful campsite and lake which me and my friends had lots of fun jumping into with the hot weather. The toilets and showers were clean and the staff were super welcoming and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. There are also some nice walks to do in the area with lovely streams and mini waterfalls as well as pub and beach nearby which makes it ideal. Definitely can’t complain for the price either!

We loved Litton Lakes. The site and facilities are well maintained and clean. The staff friendly. Sarah the warden was friendly and flexible and understanding. A relaxed environment in beautiful surroundings. The lake is medium sized and suitable for a relaxing paddle but can imagine busy when the weather is warmer. Great walks nearby. The showers were warm but shower heads very high so pressure low by the time the warm water gets to you. Be aware of your own hygiene as so many campers leave the toilet and don't wash hands 🤮 plenty of sinks and soap provided. We cant wait to return, thank you

We popped in here as we were passing by, the welcome we got on a busy holiday is deserving of 5stars alone. They were busy checking campers in but we're happy for us to look round and ask questions. The campsite is a large well kept field, you can hire one of their fire pits, there is a small shop/cafe, a large car park , and a beautiful lake that you can hire paddle boards if you don't have your own. The cost per night is very good so we will certainly be booking.

We stayed for a week in June and it was quiet in the week and packed at the weekends. As their website say they allow groups and therefore its great for mulitple families and friends to meet up and camp together, but if you're expecting a quiet site then weekends in summer aren't for you. The lake is a lovely size, clear and slopes off nicely so access is easy. Great that lake access is included in camping fees and there is no time restrictions. Footpaths from the site are great for humans and dogs. They struggled with hot water for showers throughout the week but owners said that is not normally the case.
