About Ridge Farm Camping and Caravan Park
Ridge Farm sits on a small working farm near the Purbeck Hills, offering a friendly, unpretentious base for exploring Dorset's coast and countryside. The family-run site has a relaxed, welcoming feel that appeals to returning visitors, with straightforward pitches spread across well-kept grass fields. Dogs are welcome, and there's electric hook-up for those who want it.
While facilities are basic – showers, toilets and drinking water – most guests appreciate the quiet, rural setting and genuine warmth from the owners. It's worth noting there's no WiFi, which some find refreshing, others less convenient. The location is the real draw: close enough to Wareham for supplies, yet perfectly placed for walks in the Purbecks and day trips to Dorset's beaches and market towns.

What visitors say
We have just returned from our fifth (?) trip to this campsite. It is actually our go to site fir visits to Dorset. Out first visit was back in 2019 and whilst we enjoyed it, there were a couple of things that weren't quite right, namely the pitch location as we felt rather 'squeezed in'. But on subsequent bookings we have mentioned this and have always been accommodated on our preferred pitch location. The site is quite basic, with just a shower block and a shop. If we are being critical, perhaps the shower block could do with an update but it is clean (majority of the time) and the showers are hot, and free. We have also never had to queue to use the showers, which we have at other sites. The shop is only open at certain times but it stocks all the necessities (except wine) and the chocolate croissants in the mornings are amazing! The location of the site is perfect for exploring the Jurassic coast, and Wareham is just a 20 minute walk along the river. Arne is stunning and just a short drive away. We highly recommend the river cruise from Poole to Wareham, which gives an amazing insight into the ecology of the area. There is just so much to do in the local area, hence why we keep returning. We absolutely love this camp site, and not sure I should be sharing this review as we love the quietness of it, and don't want to encourage too many visitors to break the peace!

Good location, nice pitches and amenities decent too! Tried to book late in the day but couldn't get through, maybe we should have tried earlier. Had a shop and coffee on-site so definitely a notch above other comparable campsites.

Great location, within walking distance of Wareham. Had everything you could need for a great campsite... including a very well-stocked shop for everyday essentials. Showers could be variable in temperature, but enough there, rarely had to wait. Well drained ground, only surface mud accumulated during our showery stay. Highly recommend and would stay again - except we've now moved to Wareham! 😉

Small but perfectly presented. Very peaceful. Easy walk up the river to Wareham. Clean toilets Covid safe and you are expected to clean up after yourself. Shop open for 2 hours a day at the moment serving morning pastries and coffee as well as staples. Lovely owner, very friendly. Can't wait to come back.
