Norden Farm Campsite

well where do I start. we have been coming to nordon farm for years there is a few family members have carvans and motor homes now and we like to get together for the steam and diesel galas at corfe. but this year the campsite has become very regimental. they have been round every single night telling us to put the fire out and because one night the fire had not gone completely out as they drove round to check again. they followed a family who was dropping my 7 year old niece back to her mum. and told them in future they have to report to reception. they wanted to charge my son, £68 to keep his other car here as he had to go to work. £30 deposit for a fire pit, £20 first night £8 per night after that. I could go on and on. so please what has happened to you norden farm. where have all these rules and regulations come from. after all these years will try somewhere else next year, no wonder it's not been busy this weekend. First visit but liked it, especially after the weekend busyness had left. Everything you'd expect from a campsite with a farm shop, resident peacocks and ducks visiting plus boars and goats in pens. Lots of great walks from the doorstep plus Corfe Castle to visit just a 20 minute walk away through woodlands.

The site is lovely, safe, well situated, the facilities good - showers and toilets clean (even the men's Loo's clean and didn't smell). The staff are friendly, the shop on site is well stocked with good food and equipment. there are peacocks on site to which we loved. Only thing to note is they aren't quiet creatures and wake up early, wasn't a problem for us though. We stayed a week and the kids want to go back already. We Highly recommend!

IF ZERO STARS WAS AN OPTION I WOULD HAVE PUT THIS!! “Ideal for family adventures” pull the other one, they may aswell add to the rules no smiling, no happiness, do not enjoy yourself and please keep breathing to a minimum!! I recently embarked on a trip to norden farm from Bath as part of a group to celebrate a family members birthday. (Some family members have holidayed here for over 40 years) so we had expectations of a relaxing working farm camping experience. First night was outstanding and that’s as far as it goes! Second day we were away from the site and returned for a brief shower before heading to Swanage for an enjoyable evening, we returned to norden farm at 10:15 PM and set up outside our two vans with our family of 7 with two add ons of our 80 year old grand parents so we were not holding the “party” of which We were accused. The rude and patronising “rangers” if we can even call them this came to our vans and spoke to us like we were a group of hooligans. However we abided by the rules closed up our vans, our grand parents who we were un aware were allowed in the site past 9pm left immediately and apologised to the rangers although they were spoken too horrendously twice. So my brother went to use the facilities and used his torch to navigate his way so he doesn’t fall. On the way back he had his torch on to be met by an arrogant and threatening man who was about to punch him so me and my father in law stepped in to split up this altercation of which we did not cause and then these aforementioned ranger’s returned singling us out talking to us like we were scum even though we were the victims! Again we all went to bed and this was the end as far as we were concerned. This morning we had got up for breakfast and during this time our dog had became unattached from the lead retainer and ran up to the kitchen area to follow her owner, we called her back immediately however the ignoramus of a manger shouted at us saying “put it on a lead now”. So the manger waited until we had left for the day to call us and tell us to pack up and leave the site immediately as we are apparently threatening even though as mentioned we were the victims. Back at the site the manager was purely rude and asked us all to leave which we did stating both parties were dealt with, although the other party was leaving today anyway and the park rangers were happy and cheery with them this morning and even offered to help them pack there tents up. The staff are nothing short of arrogant and I would certainly never entertain staying at this site again and would never recommend this to anyone else. However one thing I would recommend is the amazing site we have moved on to of which is woodyhyde campsite who are 12 pounds per night with an extra £7 for electric hook up. A lovely clean site at a bargain price who after explaining our circumstances could not believe what had happened. PLEASE DO NOT VISIT NORDEN FARM AND GO DIRECTLY TO WOODYHYDE CAMPSITE!!!!
