Armswell House

Photo: John Winters

An 18th-century farmhouse built to last, Armswell House retains period character—original fireplaces and high ceilings throughout—while offering the space and facilities needed for large groups. Seven bedrooms across two floors can sleep up to 18 people, with six bathrooms so nobody waits. The main floor spreads across a proper working kitchen, two separate sitting rooms with open fires, a dining room, and a cellar games room with pool table and table tennis. Practical additions include a utility room, and doors from the kitchen lead out to an enclosed garden with patio and barbecue.

All essentials are covered: electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included, plus logs for the fires. A private hot tub sits in the garden. Parking on site takes seven cars. The farmhouse stands a mile from Plush, a quiet hamlet with a pub and restaurant, though the real draw is access to 650 acres of surrounding farmland and the Dorset countryside beyond. Dogs are welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Stayed with my family for a long weekend. Really enjoyed it. The weather was rubbish but it didnt matter as we had this big house and plenty of things we could do.

A lovely location. Loved seeing the cows being milked. Large rooms, great hot tub and games room. Very well equipped kitchen.

Gorgeous big house surrounded by amazing countryside. The house is a great size, clean, and has everything you could need. Plenty of kitchenware, comfy seats, bathrooms, towels, etc. There are many beautiful walks in the immediate area, but Weymouth beach is only half an hour away if you wanted the sea. The poole table and ping pong table are a great touch, and being on the farm was delightful even though the weather was not good. All round amazing
