Dorset

Downwood - Stillness Hut is a single-storey cottage two miles from Blandford Forum, positioned for easy access to Dorset's attractions. The Jurassic Coast lies within reach for cliff walks around Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove; Kingston Lacy House, Hod Hill and Hardy's Cottage are all National Trust properties nearby. Blandford itself holds the Royal Signals Museum, a fashion museum, a brewery offering tours, and the usual high street. Wimborne's Model Town recreates the 1950s streetscape at miniature scale, while the New Forest with its free-roaming ponies is a short drive away.
Inside, everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with dining area and Freeview television, a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher, a double bedroom, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. Outside, there is a private hot tub for two, garden furniture, a barbecue, and parking for one car on site. The garden does have six steps.
The cottage suits couples seeking countryside quiet with day-trip options. Cycling is possible on the North Dorset Trailway; golf at Ashley Wood is nearby. The Dorset Heavy Horse Farm offers carriage rides and animal encounters. For something more active, Gorcombe Extreme Sports has an assault course, archery, go-karting and paintballing. A pub is two miles away and restaurants from one and a half miles. No smoking inside the property.
