Holly Lodge works well for a small family or two couples after a base away from daily life. The property gives you the whole place to yourselves, with two bedrooms upstairs (one double, one with zip-and-link singles that can be arranged as two or one), a shower room, and downstairs living space with a wood burner and kitchen that has everything needed to cook properly. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all covered, and initial fuel for the burner is included. One dog stays free and should be kept on leads; travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are available if you ask.
The lodge sits at Bulbury Woods Golf Club near Poole, with parking for two cars on site. A lake lies on the grounds. The Dorset coastline is seven miles away—Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lyme Regis are all within reasonable reach for day trips. Poole Harbour, fifteen minutes' drive off, is one of the world's largest natural harbours and home to boat trips and Brownsea Island; red squirrels live there. Local shops, pubs and restaurants are two miles away at Lytchett Matravers. For golfers, the course at Bulbury Woods is a minute from the door. The property has four resident donkeys that guests often mention as a highlight of their time here. No smoking is permitted.

We stayed at Holly Hedge Farm recently to see family . We have stayed here many times and always find the cottages very comfortable, well equipped and a very tranquil environment. One of our favourite places to visit is Studland bay. We love the donkeys as does our little dog and were delighted to meet the new additions. Mark and Julie as always excellent hosts we love it here and plan to visit again next year.

We were looking to rent accommodation for our daughter's in - laws. She got married last year in South Korea (which is where they are from). Holly Hedge Farm was recommended to us from Bulbury Golf club which was where we held her wedding blessing. The cottages were right next door to the venue. The cottages are well equipped, clean, bright and airy. each cottage has it's own private area to sit out in. The owners Julie and Mark were friendly, approachable and nothing seemed to much trouble. There are 4 donkeys at the end of the drive which wowed the Korean family and excitement for our daughters bridesmaids and groomsmen who all came to the cottages to get ready for the wedding day. They could not get over have tranquil the setting was given there is a golf course right next door. in the evening you could see the stars as there are no street lights to pollute the sky so the Koreans enjoyed that as well. I have no hesitation in recommending Holly Hedge Farm Cottages to anybody. Thank you Julie and Mark for a truly wonderful, and happy time that we spent at your fantastic cottages. Stayed at Owls Roost cottage for a week from 24 May 2026 and were very lucky with the weather. Found lots of interesting walks nearby and further away. The cottage was an ideal base and Julie and Mark were both welcoming and friendly. The cottage was clean, well fitted out and very comfortable. Found good food at nearby Chequers Inn and great walks at Lulworth, Arne, Kimmerage, The Blue Pool, Durlston Head, Wareham, Dorchester and Ringstead. Forest on Morden Road was a great nearby dog walk. Would certainly try booking next time we are in Dorset.

Another stay for us in Robins Nest - Holly Hedge Farm. Such a lovely holiday. A great large and open space - fantastic for my two children. Julie and Mark are excellent hosts. The cottage was very clean with a lovely fire. Beds are great - such a good night sleep. Definitely booking again.
