Tent 1 Deerland
Dorset
Tent 1 Deerland is a canvas safari tent on a 75-acre organic farm in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You arrive into an open-plan living space with kitchen and dining area, where a gas fire provides warmth. Two bedrooms branch off—one with a double bed, the other with two bunks—and there is a separate toilet inside. Outside, a covered veranda with garden furniture and a barbecue looks across the meadow to rolling views and wildlife: fallow and roe deer, buzzards, bees and butterflies are regular visitors.
The kitchen has a gas hob and cool box for basic cooking and food storage. Bed linen and towels are provided, as is electricity. The shower and composting toilet are in a private outdoor enclosure. There is parking for one car on site and the grounds are shared with other properties, though the tent itself is yours alone. One dog may stay for free, provided it remains on a lead—the farm is sheep country. No smoking inside.
The 75 acres give children room to run and explore, and there are few distractions beyond the landscape itself. It suits families wanting a genuine break from routine, or anyone drawn to wildlife and working farmland.
