The Gatehouse

Families and larger groups will find The Gatehouse works well for a week away without anyone fighting over bathrooms. The whole property is yours alone, arranged on a single storey with four bedrooms—two with ensuite bath and shower, two with twin single beds—plus three additional shower rooms. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and sitting areas, with a freeview television, DVD player and the basics for cooking from scratch.

The house stands within the grounds of Manor House, where you have access to extensive gardens and the opportunity to fish in the surrounding lake. An enclosed lawned garden with furniture and a portable barbecue offers private outdoor space. Parking for two cars is on site. Bed linen and towels come included; heating and electricity are provided, though winter months carry a small weekly charge. No smoking throughout.

Hooke is close to Beaminster, with shops, pubs and restaurants roughly three and a half miles away. The Dorset coastline between Bridport and Lyme Regis is within reach for beach visits and coastal walks. Abbottsbury Swannery, Weymouth and Lyme Regis itself—famous for the Cobb—are all accessible for day trips. Note that there is a moat with deep water nearby the property.
