About The Eastbury Hotel & Spa
The Eastbury occupies a Georgian townhouse on a quiet street in Sherborne, a couple of minutes' walk from the abbey and the town's honey-coloured high street. It has been graded five stars and runs at a scale where the owners and staff are visible and involved rather than distant. The public rooms are traditional without being stuffy, with a panelled bar, a conservatory and doors opening onto the garden.
Behind the house is a walled garden of about an acre, unusual in a town centre, planted with mature borders and used for drinks in summer. A small garden spa sits within it, with treatment rooms, sauna and hot tub, designed for a quiet hour rather than a full day of facilities. Bedrooms are split between the main house and garden buildings, and range from cosy classic doubles to larger suites with sitting areas; some garden rooms are dog friendly and open directly onto the lawn.
Food has always mattered here. The kitchen leans heavily on Dorset and Somerset producers, and breakfast in particular has won awards, with everything cooked to order and local bacon, sausages and eggs. During a period of refurbishment the hotel has been operating on a bed and breakfast basis, so it is worth checking what dining is available when booking; Sherborne has plenty of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance in any case.
Sherborne makes a practical base for north Dorset. The abbey, the two castles and the independent shops fill a day, and Bath, Salisbury, Dorchester and the Jurassic Coast are all within reach by car. The Eastbury suits couples wanting a comfortable town-centre stay, people visiting Sherborne's schools, and walkers who want a soft landing at the end of the day.

Very good hotel with great staff. Best power shower I've ever experienced however quite loud. They could improve a few things which would get that extra star for the rooms and overall. Great location. Spa was pretty good and great having it privately however again they could improve it to make it safer and user friendly. I would recommend this hotel.!. I stayed in a heritage room with the bath in the room which was put to great use. Beds seemed much softer than I'm used to but we're very comfortable. Blind out curtains. I would stay again!.

Booked for New Year’s Eve. From start to finish our experience was incredible. We booked a garden room which was fantastic and the attention detail was second to none. We arrived at 2 o’clock for afternoon tea which was lovely. Then followed by a spa evening which was very relaxing and peaceful, this is also booked privately as you get the spa to yourself. For dinner we then walked into the village (5min walk) and went to Tamburino (Italian) the staff were lovely and the food was great.

I got an opportunity to stay for a day during my business trip. Stayed there over night and had breakfast in the morning before moving out. Rooms are very comfy. Bathroom was very clean and tidy. Bed and the sheets were very clean as well. Overall the hotel and room had a vintage look. Good choice of cereals, bread options and well presented cooked breakfast too. Overall a good place to stay. I drove to the hotel in the evening. On a typical winter night it gets dark easily and the country road that leads to this hotel has no street lights. It's pitch dark in the evenings.

Save your money. It’s just a B&B no bar, no restaurant, very small spa. Wait until all the new work has been completed next year. Bathroom designed by Stevie Wonder I wish I’d gone to Plumber Manor
