What visitors say
Where do we start... great showers (only just put them in so only 1 womens and 1 men's so far) and toilets super clean. Elsan and bins with recycling bins too. The pitches are spacious and well looked after around the edges of the field with a play area in the middle. Enjoyed watching the children and still very quiet. Great location too with amazing views and sunsets. And the owners are fab, Leanne is so welcoming and always smiling. Thank you, we will be back.

Over the years we’ve returned to The Chequers many times, either to see family who are close by or so that we are close to the ferry and EuroTunnel. We love that we can jump on the bus right outside the gate and head into Canterbury or Folkestone with its amazing harbour arm entertainment, restaurants and wonderful new beach sauna. Leanne and Simon work tirelessly to create a welcoming and beautifully kept campsite. Every year they add something more and the addition of the showers has been wonderful for everyone. There are only two showers but this is only a small site and we’ve never had an issue with waiting times. Leanne keeps everything spotlessly clean and I challenge you to find a cleaner loo ! The peaceful woodland that makes up part of the grounds is such a glorious spot to sit and relax. A couple of picnic tables make it the ideal place to eat supper on a summers evening. Sometimes we have our grandchildren with us and the play park area in the middle makes keeping a close eye on them super easy. We’ve never been kept awake by noise, never met anyone on here who’s ruined our stay and always enjoy how friendly and relaxed this campsite is. Highly recommend

Such a perfect place! Super clean and beautiful. I stayed there as a female solo traveler and felt super safe. Wish I had more time to enjoy this special place. Also, the owners are extremely kind and generous, feels like for them it’s about meaning and not about making money. Perfect place. Really.

This is a small, friendly, and family run campsite. I must say, the proprietors are so helpful it's unbelievable. They are instantly supporting anyone who appears to be in difficulty to overcome the problem. The campsite is well maintained with a nice quirkiness that will make you smile. The facilities are basic but still very clean and tidy. This site doesn't have a shower block, so your unit would need to cover that, but there are toilets. This is a handy stop-over if transiting to a European holiday and visa versus. It's less than 30 minutes to Dover from here. The cost per night was very reasonable so this option won't break the bank. This would certainly be a site we'd return to again. Here's to the proprietors- Thank you for a great stay. Keep up your great work.
