About Premier Inn Dover Central

Premier Inn's Dover Central hotel sits close to the town centre and seafront, offering the reliable, no-frills standard the chain is known for at a lower price point than most of Dover's independent hotels. It is a practical option for visitors prioritising location and value over character.

Rooms follow the chain's standard format, with comfortable beds, simple modern furnishings and an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and evening meals. Family rooms are available for those travelling with children.

Its central position means the harbour, Dover Priory station and the approach to Dover Castle are all within easy walking distance, making it a sensible base for short breaks or overnight ferry stopovers without the need for a car in town.

Cannot expect more from this hotel. We were just expecting a clean room to sleep for a few hours after the ferry. It turned out everything is great! It was just a few minutes from the Ferry port. We arrived after midnight, the staff welcomed us friendly. The room is big and clean, the beds are comfortable, had great sleep. The unlimited breakfast is excellent, typical English breakfast, freshly prepared and consistently refilled. Best value for money! We enjoyed our short stay!

We stayed for 5 nights and our rooms were cleaned once during our entire stay, despite daily requests with reception and hanging the room clean sign on the door. The restaurant was OK but overall experience poor, clean rooms should not be regarded as an optional extra but instead a basic service. Reception were not overly interested and referred me to WhatsApp chat, which wasn't accepting new chats no matter what the tome of day I tried. The Premier Inn help number was also unobtainable. Maybe someone from the hotel will see this review and reach out before we leave. 😦

absolutely LOVE this place. incredibly convenient if you’re using the ferry. I use it as a base to go on the various nearby hiking trails. the photo attached is from a standard room with “no view” i’ve paid extra for a gorgeous view of the marina and sea previously but it’s genuinely not needed as the “standard” view is absolutely beautiful too. i paid for an early check in from 11am, but got in at 10:30am too, so even more brilliant. i’d give it ten stars if i could! staff are lovely too, housekeeping is always spotless too 💜💜💜

Perfect location for early morning ferry. Car parking plentiful and only £5. Check in was via a machine which was fine but it didn’t activate the room key properly so after walking up 3 flights (lift broken) had to go back down and find a real person. Room was adequate, clean. Lots of road noise but all in all for price great.
