About Abbeyfield B&B
A homely, well-maintained house rather than a grand building, Abbeyfield B&B makes up in comfort what it lacks in scale, offering a handful of neatly decorated rooms in the heart of Dufftown. Each comes with an en-suite bathroom, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children, with free WiFi and drinks in the room adding to the sense of a proper home from home.
Breakfast is a highlight, with a generous continental spread alongside hot cooked options to set guests up for a day exploring Speyside. Outside there's a garden and picnic area for relaxing between excursions, plus outdoor seating and free on-site parking, while reception is staffed around the clock for anyone arriving late or needing local advice.
Dufftown's title as the Malt Whisky Capital of Scotland makes this a natural base for distillery visits, and there's a golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants all within easy reach. Staff are known for pointing guests towards the best of these, making Abbeyfield a straightforward, comfortable place to stay while out discovering the area.
What guests say
Spent two days at Abbeyfield B&B and I cannot recommend this enough. The house, originally built for John Gordon (one of the owners of Mortlach Distillery) circa 1861, is now owned and operated by Kira and her family. And Kira is a really good host, always smiling, making breakfast and managing the whole thing. She even drove us down town for our distillery tour in the morning, which was a really nice gesture as taxi was impossible to come by. Room is nice and clean, beds are comfy, view of Mortlach and the hills beyond is wonderful, garden is well kept - everything is just as you would expect from a B&B, and then some. Totally worth a visit when being in Dufftown.
