Mouswald Lodge Park

Lockerbie pod comfortable accomodation £595 second week in july . Monday to Monday .check in 4pm check out 10am plenty of comfy seating to lie or sit on . Fully functional kitchen including oven ,hob,grill and microwave . Fully stocked, cutlery, crockery and glass wear atic double bed and fold down double bed . Hot tub on patio easy to use, with table and chairs to sit outside . Only downside is fold down bed obstructs bathroom door a fraction making nightime visits noisy and a bit awkward . Site is great for commuting dumfries 10 minutes drive away station £2 per day parking making this a very cheap solution . Glasgow and Edinburgh train journeys work out about £50-£80 off peak return cheaper with Railcards. Also did water tubing down some minor rapids £116 for 2 adults from Galloway canyoning company highly recommend about 40 minute drive to meeting point they provide all clothing shoes and equipment .would say for able bodied people only as access and exit to the river a difficult climb down muddy steep banks. This is nature in it's prime. Very good fun through.

Very nice lodge could do with a little updating. fridge door and oven door not closing properly took quite a while to cook food, the fridge door kept springing open ever so slightly possible seal issue. The lodge was clean and very warm on arrival and the host was there to meet us on arrival with being late due to car trouble on the journey... Thanks for a wonderful stay

On arrival the lovely host took us around the Kirkton lodge and shown us how to work the hot tub etc and all the facilities. The lodge was very comfortable, spacious and airy. Even though it was a quiet park , it was in an ideal location to explore the Borders, and Dumfries was only 10- 15 mins drive . All in all we would recommend and lovely place to chill out
