The Tranquil Orchard - The Nuthatch

Dumfries and Galloway's coastline and rolling inland terrain form the backdrop to The Nuthatch, a single-storey lodge at The Tranquil Orchard. The setting puts you within reach of the Solway Coast's dramatic cliffs and secluded beaches, as well as forest and hill walks inland. Dark skies, mountain biking routes and the Caerlaverock Wetland Centre—a 1400-acre reserve a few miles along the coast—all lie nearby.

The Nuthatch itself is compact and self-contained: an open-plan living and dining space with a sofa bed and Freeview TV, a separate bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. A private verandah faces the garden, where a wood-fired hot tub sits ready year-round, and a bike store allows easy access to the area's trails. You have use of a shared heated indoor swimming pool (6m by 4m, one two-hour slot per day, Easter to end of October, weather permitting) and access to the orchard grounds shared with other on-site properties. Parking for one car is provided.

The lodge sleeps three and is no-smoking. Dumfries, a market town with shops and restaurants, is a short drive away.
