Gatehouse of Fleet is a quiet village on the Solway coast with genuine history beneath its peaceful surface. Once a centre for manufacturing, it retains the architectural legacy of its industrial past while now offering a different kind of draw: beaches within minutes, forest trails inland, and access to outdoor activities like the zip wire at Laggan. The Mill on the Fleet preserves the area's textile heritage, and Cardoness Castle sits nearby for those who want a more formal historical outing.
Willow is a terraced cottage sleeping four across two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The ground floor combines living space, dining and kitchen in one open room, with a wood burner for warmth and a separate shower room. Upstairs are a kingsize bedroom and a twin room that zips together as a double. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the essentials are here. A Smart TV, Freesat, Netflix and Bluetooth speaker mean you can entertain yourself indoors; Wi-Fi, heating and initial fuel for the burner are all included. There's an enclosed courtyard with seating and a BBQ, and parking for two cars outside.
The property doesn't allow smoking. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request. Note that the courtyard garden has three steps, and there is one step to the cottage entrance itself.
