Chestnut Lodge

Chestnut Lodge is a substantial detached house built to accommodate large groups, with seven bedrooms and five bathrooms spread across two floors. The property sleeps 16 and can be hired exclusively. Bedrooms range from zip-and-link super kingsize beds that split into singles through to rooms with multiple single beds, giving flexibility for families or friend groups of different sizes. Each of the first five bedrooms has its own ensuite or access to a nearby bathroom; downstairs rooms share two further bathrooms with bath and shower options.

Downstairs holds the main living space, a full kitchen with double dishwashers and range cooker, and three bedrooms. Upstairs, a second sitting room opens onto a large balcony with sea views across to the Solway Firth. Two woodburners and central heating keep the house warm. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals rather than making do. Essentials including bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating costs are covered. Initial logs for the woodburners are provided. Outside, there is parking for 10 cars, bike storage, and a lawned garden with patio and furniture.

Stranraer sits within easy reach of Portpatrick's harbour and sandy beach—a 15-minute walk away—and the wider Rhins peninsula, which is known for coastal walks, rocky coves and cliffs. The Galloway Forest lies nearby with marked trails for walking and cycling, including the 7Stanes routes. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
