Knockinaam House is a four-bedroom detached property sleeping eight, furnished with everything needed for a self-catering stay. The ground floor contains two living rooms (both with Freeview TV), a dining room opening onto the garden, and a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, range, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a separate toilet. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite shower, two further bedrooms have double beds, and the fourth has two single beds. A bathroom with bath and shower room with cubicle shower complete the accommodation. Central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial fuel for the open fire. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
The house sits near Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway, a coastal area with beaches, quiet country lanes and access to clifftop walks. Portpatrick fishing village is nearby, as is the Mull of Galloway, Scotland's southernmost point and home to an RSPB nature reserve. Private parking for six cars is on site, along with a bike store and a rear garden with patio and furniture. No smoking is permitted. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

We stayed for Christmas as a family of 6 with a dog, 2 more guests ended up joining us on Boxing Day. Honestly 10/10 experience. The house is huge, warm and cosy. Well equipped and the bedding smelled lovely! There are so many bathrooms too. Star gazing at night was unbelievable, I ended up pulling the blinds up in my room and falling asleep staring at the stars. On the day we had to leave one of our cars wouldn’t start and Elspeth was quick to help and didn’t rush us. I would 100% come back!

Good size house, not 100% dog friendly garden , ungated to drive/road however large 100% secure patio. Wi fi very poor affected TV profoundly, also needed to limit devices connected to it at any one time. Location perfect for walking , swimming, owners on hand and very helpful if required. Perfect views you can easily see northern Ireland in the distance

A fantastic house in a superb location. It's spacious and can host a large group or family. It's perfect for exploring that area of Scotland or just if you are looking to put your feet up and enjoy the views.

We had a great holiday at Knockinaam House. It is ideally located in a quiet country setting midway between the rocky coast of Portpatrick and the sands of Luce Bay. The property is very commodious, with three bathrooms upstairs which suited us very well, and loads of space for everyone. If you are into star gazing, the front patio provides an ideal setting after dark. The Rhinns of Galloway provide many interesting trips close at hand - don't miss the rather unique salt water fish pool at Port Logan! Thanks Elspeth for providing this great holiday venue.
