Clachries Cottage

The Solway Coast around Colvend offers sand dunes, rockpools and gentle walks; the golf course is on your doorstep, and Sandyhills Beach is a short stroll away. Dumfries itself has shops, restaurants and museums worth an afternoon. This makes Clachries Cottage a natural base for mixing seaside time with more active pursuits, or simply retreating to somewhere quiet.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a zip-and-link bed (convertible to two singles), one with twin singles—and has one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs, a sitting and dining room with a wood-burner opens onto a garden with seating and a barbecue. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a utility room with a washing machine. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are provided, along with initial fuel for the stove. One dog is welcome. Parking for two cars sits on the property. The cottage is no-smoking throughout. Note that there are five steps down into the garden.

The entrance is level and easily accessible. Arrival is after 4pm; departure before 10am.
