Curlew Cottage

Couples, small families and friends all find Curlew Cottage works well for a few days away. The two bedrooms sleep four—one has a kingsize bed, the other a zip-and-link that splits into singles on request—and there's one bathroom with a spa bath and shower. The sitting room has a woodburning fire, Freeview TV and Chromecast, while the kitchen comes equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and everything else needed to prepare meals. One dog or cat stays free of charge.

The cottage sits in the quiet village of Creetown, surrounded by Galloway Hills, with Newton Stewart market town six miles away offering shops, restaurants, a leisure centre and cinema. Coastal walks, Galloway Forest Park and the region's botanic gardens are all within reach. The enclosed garden has lawn space, a summerhouse, barbecue and seating, and there's a bike store on site. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are included; initial fuel for the open fire is provided too. No smoking inside. Children and cots are catered for with a travel cot and highchair available.
