About Castle Cary Holiday Park
Set seven miles from Newton Stewart around a 16th-century baronial castle, Castle Cary Holiday Park delivers spectacular Scottish scenery with royally fine views over woodland, fields and the River Cree estuary. The star of the show is the Laird's Inn – carved from part of the old castle with stone walls, wooden beams and open fires – serving delicious, reasonably priced food that's popular enough you'll want to book ahead. Guests rave about the spacious, well-maintained pitches and the warm, helpful staff who keep this family-run site ticking along nicely.
Facilities are comprehensive: two heated pools (one indoor, one out), a paddling pool, crazy golf, a games room and a playground, plus a donkey corner that sends kids gaga. There's fishing on-site or in nearby river, sea and loch, and Galloway Forest Park sits 10 minutes north for sailing, wild swimming and woodland walks. With pitch options from non-electric grass to fully-serviced hardstanding, plus an on-site café for morning coffee and sweet treats, Castle Cary covers all bases for a proper Scottish escape.

We stayed here at the weekend, 3 nights camping. We had a fantastic holiday camping at this holiday park. We all really enjoyed our stay. The food was great, and the outdoor swimming pool was a lovely addition. The fishing pond was a big hit too. The facilities were relatively clean, and overall we had a wonderful experience. We’ve booked to go back next month :)

Had a brilliant stay at Castle Cary Holiday Park. The campsite is really nice and well looked after, and everyone working there was friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The food in the pub on site was excellent. We ate there a few times and every meal was spot on. The swimming pool was great, the crazy golf was good fun, and the whole place had a really relaxed feel. It is also really dog friendly and seeing loads of wild rabbits running around the site was a lovely bonus. Would definitely recommend it and we will definitely be back again.

Great holiday park! Kids said it was the best we have even been to and we have been camping 2-3 times a year for nearly 10 years now. Lots of things to do, family and pets friendy. Lovely part of Scotland to explore is only 20-40min away. Highly recommend

Stayed here for a long weekend in our motorhome - unfortunately it was during storm Dave, so we didn't get to sit out much. It's a lovely site, when not water logged but great for the kids. There's a play park, games area, small pool & plenty of space. Small fishing lake/loch & woodland walk to the nearby village, though there's not a lot there. The Lairds Inn has great reviews but we didn't try it.
