Driftwood Cottage sits on elevated ground in a seaside village location in Dumfries and Galloway, reached by two steps to the entrance. Inside, the ground floor is arranged as one open living space with a kitchen area at one end and dining and sitting areas that connect directly to the garden through patio doors. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with a double. The single bathroom has a shower cubicle and heated towel rail. A shower room on the ground floor is also available.
The kitchen comes equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine, so you can prepare meals or manage laundry during your stay. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The enclosed garden has seating and furniture, and there is on-road parking. One pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
The location suits families and dog owners particularly well. From here you can walk into the village and down to the beach, or explore the surrounding countryside on foot. Southerness Lighthouse is nearby. The village itself has a harbour and waterfront pubs, and sits at the start of the Southern Upland Way long-distance footpath.

A wonderful spot. Gorgeous rooms and communal areas. We had a fantastic week there and would definitely stay again.

We stayed from the 10th-17th August and absolutely LOVED it! Beautiful surroundings and an amazing view from every window (especially from the kitchen, living room and two sea facing bedrooms) It's kitted out with everything you'd need for your holiday. Even has a little beach hut full of things for the kids to use on the beach (fishing nets, inflatable boat, balls, mini golf set) it has a lovely fire pit in the garden for the cooler nights and supply of wood to burn. We could not be happier with our visit and the owners were ever so nice and chatty. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly be going back.

Driftwood is so magical!! We have only been home for 1week and yet we miss it so much. Waking up to those lovely sea views and fresh air is truly wonderful. This was our second stay at this beachside bungalow and we loved it so much. The kids had a great time crabbing and generally playing around. The dog was absolutely exhausted by the end of our stay. This was the first time she had experienced such freedom of sand and sea. Has before the bungalow was well equipped and added to our enjoyment of a wonderful position on the Solway Firth. Many thanks to our lovely hosts Paul and Linda, “We’ll be back”

Remote location means getting supplies is difficult or impossible if the local shop has shut as the nearest shop after that is 30mins drive away. The house itself is very cosy and well furnished, lovely views, beach is ok, owners are very friendly.
