Drumlanrig Castle - Laundry Cottage

Families and groups of up to six will find Laundry Cottage a self-contained base on the Drumlanrig Estate near Dumfries. The stone-built cottage has three bedrooms—a double, a zip-and-link super king that splits into singles, and a kingsize upstairs—spread across two bathrooms. One bathroom is an ensuite to the top-floor bedroom. Downstairs, the open-plan living space centres on a woodburner, with a separate kitchen-diner equipped for proper cooking. Essentials like electricity, heating, Wi-Fi and bed linen are included.

The grounds matter as much as the interior. A private hot tub sits in the enclosed garden, which also holds an Ooni pizza oven. The estate itself spans 90,000 acres with marked walking routes starting minutes from the door, making it natural territory for dog owners—one pet stays free, though they must be kept on lead as this is sheep country. Parking for two cars is on site. The cottage is non-smoking.

Drumlanrig Castle and its gardens lie within walking and cycling distance. The wider region around Dumfries and Galloway offers countryside exploring, though the estate's own grounds and facilities mean guests rarely need to leave the property.
