Step into Kirklauchline Pods - Keith and you're in a single open-plan room: living space, dining area and kitchen all flowing together, with a double bed at one end and a shower room tucked to the side. Everything happens on the ground floor, two steps from the entrance. The kitchen has an electric hob, microwave and air fryer for self-catering. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. One small dog can stay with you.
The pod sits on the Rhins of Galloway Peninsula with views across farmland towards the Irish Sea. There's a front garden with seating where you can take in the coastal air and light. Private parking for two cars is on site. Portpatrick, a working harbour village with pubs and restaurants serving fresh seafood, is a short drive away. The Southern Upland Way passes through the area for walkers wanting clifftop trails, and Dunskey Castle is nearby. Further afield: Logan Botanic Garden, the Mull of Galloway lighthouse, and Portpatrick Dunskey Golf Club.
The pods are non-smoking. You arrive after 15:00 and leave before 10:00.

Had an amazing time. Everything was perfect. The cottage had great views from every window. The coast the country side. We even saw deer rabbits cows and loads of lovely birds. You also see the farmers come along with the tractors. Great starter pack. A relaxing stay had by all. Will be booking again.

This was a nice cottage but had no usable garden just a small decked area in need of attention and a stoned driveway. There were no signposted footpaths for walking and much of the surrounding area seemed to be used for excavating rocks

We wouldnt hesitate in coming back here. We have a reactive dog and it was more than suitable for her needs as we didnt see a soul all week! The cottage itself was comfortable and cosy. We look forward to returning.

Just booked for the 3rd time. Realised I hadn't left a review previously. I've travelled solo with my pupper and with family and both times our visit had been wonderful. I always visit around January for the dark skies, which don't disappoint. Being stood outside late at night on a clear night looking at the stars after glorious sunsets is incredible. The cottage has everything you could need, it's warm and cosy. My dog is totally at home here and loves nothing more than snoring in front of the fire after a good walk on one of the local beaches which are mostly empty, or around the Port. We've visited most places locally and the community is welcoming and friendly. It's great being in the middle of nowhere looking out onto the sea, especially on a clear day watching the boats go by. Looking forward to my next visit!
