Riverside

Riverside is a terraced cottage on the banks of the River Cree in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway. It comes with electricity, bed linen and towels included, plus a welcome pack to get you started. The property sleeps two across a double bedroom and a twin room (though the twin beds are for flexible sleeping arrangements only), with one shower room. There is private parking for one car and a bike store on site.

The kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Downstairs, the living and dining room has a 37-inch Freeview TV, DVD player and CD player, opening onto a balcony. Gas central heating keeps things warm. The cottage does not permit smoking, and is not suitable for children or babies. A fenced river runs 20 yards away.

Newton Stewart itself is within walking distance, with shops, cafés and restaurants nearby. The location works well for exploring Galloway Forest, the Dark Skies Park and the Machars Peninsula—there are mountain bike trails at Glentrool and Kirroughtree, golf courses in the area, fishing and birdwatching opportunities, and the coast is 14 miles away. A pub is within a mile of the property.
