About Conifer Lodges
Tucked on the outskirts of Newton Stewart, Conifer Lodges sit in a remarkably peaceful spot flanked by Galloway Forest Park on one side and an 18-hole golf course on the other. Each spacious lodge comes with open-plan living areas, a fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor decking, and – guests consistently highlight – a private hot tub, making them ideal for groups or families seeking a comfortable, self-contained retreat. The site is spotless and well-maintained, with a playground, tennis court, and walking trails right on the doorstep.
Being on the edge of one of the UK's Dark Sky Parks means clear evenings deliver spectacular stargazing from your own deck. Dog owners will find the location particularly appealing, with woodland walks and open space galore. While the lodges themselves are first-rate, it's worth noting that the site is relatively small and can book up quickly during peak times.

What visitors say
Great location, place was very tidy and clean. Kitchen is well stocked with all you need for cooking and serving. Bathroom was big with amazing showers. The only con was that the jacuzzi wasn't very clean. Water had some dead leaves and what it seemed to be tree bark.

Just returned from staying here for the first time. We stayed for 3 nights in lodge 18 with our dog. I read online that this was one of the best lodges for dogs due to the fully enclosed patio and they were right. I also love how it is tucked away right at the end of the site so feels a little more quiet/away for that extra little reassurance in case she didnt settle/when let out barked but she was right at home. The hot tub was fantastic and warm throughout. It was serviced/cleaned daily and the staff doing this were so discreet and quick, we didnt notice them, only knew they had been when we saw a staff member walking away from the lodge. The place was spotless when we arrived and loved the extra touch of a light on and the heating and loved the dog bowl, treats and bags to use left out too. The site was also very clean with lovely cut grass, flowers, beautiful trees and no dog mess anywhere. We were so lucky to see deer each evening on our dog walk and even spotted the white deer! The beds were so comfy too. The kitchen I was very impressed with. I was able to bake and make proper meals from scratch due to the fully equipped kitchen ie several cans, utensils, coffee maker for ground coffee, various sizes of bowls and dishes. We will definitely return annually and now looking at the other sites in Scotland to give them a try. Its the perfect location for many things roundabout. Thanks very much Solid Luxury for an unforgettable stay celebrating a special birthday.

Quiet, rural area. Lovely lodges with hot tubs which we made very good use of. Very clean and loved watching all the different birds visiting us. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the site is always well kept. Would definitely return.

Beautiful cottages that are clean and well-maintained. Having a hot tub was such a lovely extra! The staff on-site are fantastic, whenever we had a minor issue, they were quick to help and resolve it. It’s a truly quiet and relaxing place. Highly recommended!
