The Southern Upland Way passes through Moffat, making this a natural base for walkers. Grey Mare's Tail waterfall lies 10 miles south, while St Mary's Loch is 30 miles away. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both within 50 miles, and Drumlanrig Castle near Thornhill is an easy drive. The town itself has pubs, restaurants and independent shops within half a mile, plus a local arts and music scene.
Roseburn Cottage is a converted stone building on the edge of town, forming a wing of the owner's home. It's a single storey with everything on one floor. The main living room has a woodburner, a sofa bed, and French doors opening onto a small courtyard garden with patio seating and a barbecue. The bedroom contains a zip-and-link king bed (or two singles on request). The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, and microwave. An ensuite shower room plus a separate toilet complete the layout. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included; logs for the woodburner are provided to get you started, and the owner can arrange use of a freezer if needed.
The cottage takes two people and is exclusively yours. Parking for one car is on site. Well-behaved dogs stay free. The property is non-smoking.

This was our second time at Roseburn Cottage. Absolutely lovely cottage. Very warm and cosy. Little Christmas tree and decorations were a nice touch for a December stay. The welcome goodies left for us to enjoy were very much appreciated. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could want. We ate out evening's but the cooking facilities in the cottage are all there if you need them. There is an outside garden space to sit in which looks lovely. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and make you feel at home straight away. The location is in a perfect spot, very quiet yet just a few minutes walk into town. There are plenty of places to eat and some interesting shops. Moffat is a great base from which to explore this lovely part of the country. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at Roseburn cottage & it was excellent, everything was well thought of by the owners Graham & Claire, cottage was lovely & clean, couldn’t have wished for better accommodation, please take no notice of some of the above reviews, I can only assume they have got mixed up with somewhere else, we would definitely go back there again.
