The Rhins of Galloway peninsula offers dramatic coastline, sandy beaches where dolphins and porpoises appear, and a scattering of villages built around working harbours. The Potting Shed sits on a working farm within this landscape, a detached cottage that has been thoroughly renovated. Portpatrick village with its restaurants and golf course is nearby; Stranraer's wider facilities are about 8 miles away.
The cottage holds two bedrooms and one bathroom across a single storey, sleeping four. Downstairs has the living spaces: a sitting room with patio doors opening onto decking that overlooks the garden, and a kitchen with an oil range and full appliances including washing machine and tumble dryer. One bedroom has a king bed, the other contains two single beds. The bathroom includes a walk-in bath with a seat and a separate walk-in shower. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and superfast Wi-Fi are included, as are heating and hot water. The property has wheelchair access and an adjustable bed available, making it suitable for those with mobility needs.
Outside, a lawned garden with decking, garden furniture and a BBQ provides space for outdoor time. There's private parking for two cars and a bike store. One small dog stays free; the owners have a games room with a pool table, table tennis and darts that guests can use. A fenced stream runs through the garden about 10 yards from the house. Walking, cycling, fishing, pony trekking and water sports are all available in the area, and Logan Botanical Gardens—benefiting from the mild Gulf Stream climate—is worth a visit. The beach is 2 miles away; shops are 4 miles distant.
