Woodend is a semi-detached cottage on the edge of Dumfries, in countryside but close enough to town amenities. The entire ground floor layout means no stairs: living room with open fire and French doors to the garden, separate dining room, kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, two bedrooms (one kingsize, one double) and a bathroom with bath and shower. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the fire.
The enclosed courtyard has a lawned area and garden furniture, with parking for two cars and a bike store on site. A pub is within walking distance. From here you can reach Dumfries town centre easily—home to museums, Burns' house, and the Camera Obscura—or venture to Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, the Solway Coast beaches, or Galloway Forest Park. Mountain biking and cycling routes are nearby at Mabie and Dalbeattie Forests. Dogs stay free.

A gorgeous cottage on the edge of Dumfries. The cottage had all amenities, and we were greeted with a welcome pack also one for the dogs. We spent most of our time outside as the weather was fantastic. Lovely break made more special in this beautiful home.

Secluded enough to enjoy a quiet break but really only 5 minutes to the city. The interior of the cottage is warmly decorated and very cosy in winter. In summer, sitting outdoors and sipping tea and enjoying nature would be an experience to behold. Even sitting indoors with the French doors wide open, one could enjoy the beauty of the surroundings in the warm comfort of the indoors. Dumfries is the seat of the county and there are lots of places to explore, even in winter.

Woodend is everything you could ask for Dawn is very welcoming and helpful if you have any questions cottage is very comfortable and cozy with an open fire plenty of walks and a base to explore Dumfries and Galloway

Beautiful cottage in great location which has everything you would ever need. The owner Dawn was lovely and couldn’t have done more for our stay. Would highly recommend 👍
