Large country house style hotel with good size rooms, lots of parking, decent cooked Scottish breakfast. Set away from the town a little in huge grounds. Felt like there should be three times as many guests for the size of the place.

Went to an event and great room for our Historic Dancing and stayed overnight . Unusual unfinished building near car park but dont be put off by this . You need a car to explore Dumfries you cant walk there.

Had a lovely peaceful nights stay here. Service is impeccable and enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast. There is stalled building work next door that doesn’t detract from the stay. Could imagine it having space to expand into a very luxurious spa hotel in future. Only deducted one star from location as it’s a tad too far outside Dumfries to walk into centre. Very drivable or good for cyclists though! Would return.
